Regulatory & Compliance
About NHPCO's Regulatory & Compliance Department
The NHPCO Regulatory and Compliance Department works on a daily basis with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on hospice payment policy, billing, survey and certification, program integrity and audits. In addition to CMS, NHPCO’s regulatory and compliance team interfaces with the FDA, the DEA, the Pain Care Forum, national accrediting organizations, and many other national organizations and associations. The department develops technical resource materials on a wide variety of regulatory issues, with guidance to providers on implementing various regulatory initiatives. The department also provides regulatory assistance through phone calls and emails to thousands of hospice professionals on a wide variety of regulatory, audit and clinical issues. Send your questions to regulatory@nhpco.org.
